Wisdom from our Grade 1-2 Students

Sometimes the best advice comes from the youngest voices in our school. Recently, our Grade 1-2 class shared their thoughts on how to make the rest of your life the best of your life-and their words were full of heart and wisdom. Their ideas included being kind and making friends, learning new things, playing with friends, going outside and camping and spending time with family. Some suggested having cake for recess and lunch (we admire the optimism!) and reminded us to listen to our parents and teachers, take care of one another, and help others so we can all keep learning. It's a wonderful reminder that joy, connection and curiosity are what make life meaningful, at any age.

Staying Well over the Break

As we head into the holidays, a gentle reminder to keep the winter sniffles at bay: plenty of sleep, fresh air, and good hand hygiene go a long way in keeping colds and flus at a distance. A well-rested break will help everyone setup for an energetic and exciting start to Term 3. We look forward to welcoming all our students and families back on Monday 21 July, refreshed and ready for a fantastic term ahead.

AdAstra Junior

AdAstra Junior students enjoyed a visit from their online teacher, Ms Blackburn who had prepared an exciting Maths escape room challenge for them.  They had to solve several multistep problems to decipher codes to be able to unlock a special box of prizes.  Working together, many mathematical discussions were had, frustration and elation experienced and then finally, satisfaction as the box was unlocked!  Fantastic thinking Elijah, Max and Harvey.

E Team News

This week the E team students have been creating posters to put into each of the classrooms. The posters have one clear message: Please stay on the paths.

The posters will be displayed near the classroom doors in an effort to remind students to respect the garden areas which have been developed around the school.

Recently it has been encouraging to hear how many students have been using the bottle recycling scheme which has been advertised - Recycle Rewards – Tassie’s 10¢ recycling for bottles, cans and drink containers

What a great way to help our environment!

Our fun fact this week is:

Our nearest bottle recycling stations are in Hornby Rd Goodwood and Claremont Plaza. Try them out!
