Principals Report
Dear parents and carers,
I would like to share some personal news with you. At the beginning of Term 4, I will be taking Long Service Leave. After much reflection and due to changing family circumstances, I have also made the decision to retire and will not be returning to Rosetta Primary School in 2026.
It has been an absolute privilege to serve as principal of such a wonderful school. Rosetta Primary School is a very special place, and I have truly valued the opportunity to work with our dedicated staff, our amazing students, and our supportive parent community.
The acting principal role has been advertised for Term 4, as well as the substantive position for commencement in 2026.
I would like to thank you all for the ways you have contributed to making Rosetta Primary School such a welcoming and vibrant community. I will always carry very fond memories of my time here.
Class Placements for 2026
It is coming up to the time of year when we start to plan for 2026 classes.
Student placement in classes is a highly planned process with many considerations going into place ranging from educational, social and individual needs. Students and staff have an input, and it is also important for you as parents to have an input on your child’s friendship group. Your input does help inform our planning around the organisation of student friendship allocation to class groups.
The time to make a request for 2026 is from Thursday 11 September 2025 until Friday 26 September 2025. We are providing just over two weeks for your input via the attached form titled 2026 Class Preference Form. Once this time has ended, requests cannot be accommodated because of the complexity around class creations. Numerous hours of planning and discussion go into them and once they are compiled, late requests bring about considerable changes. All requests, by the due date, are carefully considered and there are times when we can accommodate them and there are times when we cannot.
If you would like to make a friendship request for a 2026 class placement, could you fill out the form below (2026 Class Preference Form) and submit it by Friday 26 September. Thank you in advance.
Kind regards
Mrs Arendt
Principal
Swimming Carnival Grade 3-6

The annual Swimming Carnival is coming up soon on Tuesday 16 September. Spectators are welcome to attend, and we encourage parents & carers to come and cheer on our students. We ask spectators to stay in the spectator area to ensure our carnival runs smoothly.
We are running our swimming Carnival as 2 smaller carnivals again this year to encourage participation. The grade 5 and 6 Carnival will be held first from 9:30am – 11:15am with students leaving school at 9:00am and returning before 12:00pm. Any House Captains will remain at the pool to assist with the Grade 3 & 4 Carnival.
At 10:30am the Grade 3 and 4 students will depart from school. At around 11:15am there will be a changeover at the pool where we will then commence our 3/4 carnival. This will conclude at 1:00pm. Students will return before 2:00pm.
We wish all students involved the best of luck!

School Family Satisfaction Survey
The 2025 School Satisfaction Survey is here!
We want to hear from you, as input from families is very important to help us inform our school-planning and decision-making. Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve.
We would be grateful if you took part in our online survey about Rosetta Primary School.
- The survey is open from Monday 25 August 2025 until Friday 19 September 2025 and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
- Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).
- Take the online survey by clicking the link below or by pasting it in your browser: https://nam.dcv.ms/cyE7BPZzvQ The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.
- All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department for Education, Children and Young People staff.
Please contact our office if you require any assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.

More thanks go out to Blooms the Chemist in Glenorchy Central, and to Josh Willie for their generosity and lovely donations in support of our stall.
