SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MEETING TODAY, THURSDAY 14 AUGUST AT

5PM IN THE LEARNING CENTRE

All are welcome to attend.

Principals Report

Beatlemania And Rosetta’s World of Learning - The Countdown Is On!

The excitement is building as Beatlemania and Rosetta's World of Learning edge closer on our calendar. We’re now finalising practise runs for each class’s performance, it promises to be an exciting and memorable event for our school community. Many thanks to Ms Castle for the time and commitment she has been putting into the program including extra time on Thursdays to provide students or classes with more practise.

Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us on Tuesday 26 August at 12:30pm, ready for a 12:45pm start, to celebrate the creativity, hard work, and learning that our students have been putting into their performances. We look forward to sharing this special event with you.

Following the conclusion of the Beatlemania concert, our World of Learning event will begin. Parents and carers will be invited into their child's classroom to hear about what their child has been learning over the past couple of terms. This is a wonderful opportunity to see what's been happening in the classroom, talk with and spend time alongside your child, and enjoy a range of other events happening around the school.

Further information will be sent out in the newsletter soon. Classrooms will remain open until 3:30pm.

Kind regards

Mrs Arendt

Principal

Canteen News

The canteen special for Wednesday 20 August will be - WEDGES! Please return orders to the office on Friday for Wednesday delivery.

Counter sales will be open again this Friday 15 August at lunch time only.

2026 Kinder Enrolments are open

If you have a child born in 2021, they are eligible to be enrolled in Kindergarten in 2026. Please contact our friendly office staff for an enrolment pack via phone on 6208 1200 or email rosetta.primary@decyp.tas.gov.au, or in person from our Admin office.

E Team

The E Team have been helping the Glenorchy City Council to replant the banks of Jacques Creek which is next to Rosetta Primary School. So far we have planted 70 trees, bushes and grasses to help hold the bank in place and protect the creek.

The plants are protected by cardboard surrounds.

If you walk through that area at any time and you see damaged plants or surrounds, could you please report it to the school office on 6208 1200.

We will be doing another planting at the beginning of September and that will make 100 plants in all.

In the future, we are hoping that classes will be able to make greater use of the area.

Our fun fact this week is:

Nature teaches us a world of connections. When we observe nature at work, we see how everything is interconnected and interdependent. If we are to live sustainably into the future, it is critical we learn to understand the world in this more systemic way, considering the consequences of our actions and the impact of our behaviours. Nature is a model of sustainability because it works through networks of relationships that seek the harmony and balance of the system. If we learn to work in the same way, we can create similarly sustainable, balanced systems.

Kinder B

Kinder B have been learning that the Aboriginal communities tell stories through song, dance and artwork. We used Aboriginal symbols to tell our own stories.

Science Week

This week and next week Science Week will be celebrated around Australia.

The theme for Science Week this year is 'Decoding the Universe – Unlocking Natures codes'.

We are celebrating Science Week with a Nature Quiz which will take you to different parts of the school grounds. Students can do the quiz by themselves or with their class. Parents and families are invited to enter.

Once the quiz is completed, please put the entry in the box in the Library next to the Premier's Reading Challenge Box.

Some small prizes will be awarded in the next Assembly.

Quiz forms are available from teachers or from the school office.

Happy quizzing!
