Principal’s Report
Hello everyone,
Congratulations Ellouise
Huge congratulations must go to Ellouise, one of our Grade 6 leaders. Ellouise has been accepted into two highly acclaimed interstate ballet programs for 2024: The Queensland Ballet Academy’s Guest Academy Program and the Tanya Pearson Affiliate Program.
The Queensland Ballet Program will allow Ellouise to travel to QLD and participate in 4 intensive weeks of training. Ellouise will be training alongside 15 dancers from across Australia who have been accepted into the program.
The Tanya Pearson Affiliate Program will allow Ellouise to travel to Sydney at various times across the year and join in with the school’s full timers participating in their classes and program.
Ellouise has worked exceptionally hard this year to earn these positions, such a wonderful achievement! Congratulations Ellouise.
Congratulations to our Award Recipients
Congratulations to all our award recipients from the Awards Assembly. It was a pleasure presenting the awards to them in recognition of all their efforts both at Rosetta Primary School and the wider community.
Special recognition must also go to our two student’s of the year: Taylah and Mimi, who have contributed so much community spirit to our school community.
Congratulations must also go to our Grade 6 student leaders of 2023. These students have shown commitment to their learning and it has a pleasure to welcome them each day. They have offered their services to the school in many ways eg tirelessly supporting the younger students at all the carnivals, helping with sports equipment, the preps with their bike riding, organising games, helping younger students with their learning. They always say ‘yes’ to helping and volunteering and I know they will be fine representatives in our community in the future.
I have greatly enjoyed supporting each Grade 6 student through their final year at Rosetta Primary School , each one has shown the value of growth, through aspiring to learn and improve, even when it is tough. During those times they have each shown their courage and the ability to adapt to changing situations. They have shown respect to themselves, each other and those in our community. To each one of them, I offer my heartfelt congratulations, it has been a joy watching them become the fine students of today and, I have no doubt, of the future.
Kind regards

End of Year Primary Excursion
On Thursday 21 December, all Grade 3 to 6 students with excursion permissions will be attending the End of Year Primary Excursion to the Clarence Aquatic Centre. Students will depart school at 11:15am and return by 2:30pm.
As previously, there will be a designated and supervised area at the shallow end for those less confident in the water and more confident swimmers will be identified with a test swim and / or coloured wristband.
Students will be allowed access to the pool kiosk, but all money will be the responsibility of the students themselves. The kiosk is stocked primarily with drinks, ice-creams, lollies, and chocolates. A clearly named wallet or clip-lock bag to keep money in is advised.
Students are reminded that they will need to wear full school uniform on the day and to bring swimming gear separately and include a bag for wet items.

Japanese Competition
Congratulations to Mimi who came 1st in the Japanese Speech Competition. The Japanese Speech Competition is held every year and is a state-wide competition, open to students from schools across all sectors. Mimi worked hard, under pressure, to learn her speech in a very short time frame. To celebrate her achievement, Mimi attended a prize-giving “Awards Night” at Government House on Friday 17 November. Mimi received her certificate from the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency, Ms Barbara Baker.

E Team
The E Team members have been acting as mentors in the Kinder playground, helping the students to keep the sand in the sandpit and out of the water creek.
Oakley, Lochie, Ollie, Mimi and Ebony talked to the Kinder classes and explained the new expectations.
Starting last Monday, two E Team students have been on duty each lunchtime, handing out stickers to students who have been doing the right thing.
Our fun fact for this week is:
The developmental benefits of water play for students are well known. Few students can resist the sensory urge to play with water whilst at the same time developing their social skills as they play cooperatively with others, negotiating and sharing the hand pump and other equipment, space and materials.
Water play stimulates creativity and physical development with all sorts of imaginative play generated from a hand pump delivering water down a series of channels, over a dry creek bed or directly into a sandpit.
Water creeks can also attract insects and should be maintained carefully.
